Susan M. Bauer, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, where she was born on January 1, 1957. She leaves behind a warm legacy built on laughter, generosity, and a heartfelt connection to her family and friends.

Susan graduated from Fairmont East High School where she played field hockey. She went on to have a fulfilling career at Wright Patterson Credit Union, where she retired. Known for her funny and sarcastic wit, she had a remarkable ability to say it like it was, blending honesty with humor. Her kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand endeared her to many, and she was never shy about showing how much she loved her grandchildren.

She took great joy in attending the Cross United Methodist Church, where her faith played an integral part in her life. When she wasn't busy with family, you could often find her with a book in hand, diving into crossword puzzles or listening to her favorite Christian music. Susan also had a soft spot for the Hallmark channel and cherished her trips, particularly those to Gatlinburg, TN and Destin, FL, where she created countless memories with her loved ones.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ken Bauer, along with her step-sons, David (Tricia) Runyon, Matt Bauer, and Chris (Ashley) Bauer. She had a special bond with her grandchildren: Kayla Runyon, Jaden Runyon, and Jase Runyon, who were the light of her life. She is also remembered fondly by her sister Vicki (Barb) Kapp, step-sister, Roma Taylor, brother-in-law, Brian Runyon, and sisters-in-law, Debbie (Chuck) Knaub, Vicky (Jackie) Hutchison, and Sandy Stultz. Her nieces, Amy Elliott and Rachel Deuer, nephew, Justin ( Jen ) Runyon, and great-nephew, Nate Bartlett, along with many other family and friends who will always hold onto the memories they shared with her. Not to forget, she leaves behind her beloved cat, Gizmo, who was surely a source of comfort and companionship.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband Robert Runyon, parents, Martin and Sandy Kapp, brothers, Bobby Kapp and Bill Kapp, sister-in-law and best friend, Debbie Runyon, and nephew, Chris Runyon.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 9:30-10:30am at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424. The service will follow at 10:30am. Susan will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.

As we remember Susan, let us celebrate her zest for life, her generous spirit, and the way she touched everyone around her. Her memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a testament to the love and laughter she shared so freely.
