Sue Annette Pike, a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Fairborn, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on October 14, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, Sue was known for her sweet spirit and her unwavering dedication to her family and community.
A proud graduate of Fairmont West High School in 1958, where she played the clarinet in the marching band, Sue embraced every opportunity with a joyous heart. She lived a life of service, taking on the toughest but most rewarding job in the world as a homemaker. While raising her family, she also engaged in various jobs that showcased her nurturing spirit and organizational skills—babysitting for Air Force officers' children and managing bookkeeping for a used car lot. Beyond her work, she devoted her time to volunteering at Arrowhead Elementary School and even took on a part-time role at the State Collection Agency.
Sue was a pillar in her community, attending every one of her son Dale's shows, attended every one of her children's and grand children's athletic events and supported the Jamestown Youth Wrestling program run by her son Ed, where the children affectionately called her "grandma." Her grandson's knew her as "Sue Sue," a name cherished dearly by Ed's children. Sue also had a zest for life that shone through in her love for racing; she could often be found challenging L. Dee's 36 Chevy with a spirited race in her beloved El Camino, creating joyful memories alongside Dale's daughters.
Her hobbies encompassed a wide range of interests. Sue had a penchant for shopping, particularly for bargains and Christmas gifts, often planning her Christmas shopping year-round. She found joy in knitting, crocheting, crafting with plastic needlepoint, and visiting with friends. Music was another great love of hers—she delighted in dancing the jitterbug with L. Dee, and she cherished reading and writing poems for special occasions. An avid collector, Sue amassed a treasure trove of antiques, as well as memorabilia of Elvis and Betty Boop.
Above all, Sue's proudest accomplishments were her family and especially her grandchildren, which filled her heart with immeasurable joy. She is survived by her loving sons Ed (Regina) Pike and Dale (Iveren Myadze-Pike) Pike, her stepdaughter Sherry Garner, and her adoring grandchildren Ben (Megan) Pike, Branden (Tracy Barnhart-Pike) Pike, Cheyenne Pike, Shawnee Pike, and Jonathan Garner. Sue also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Kaden Pike, Cordelia Pike, Chloe Pike, Ryder Barnhart-Pike, and Kipton Barnhart-Pike, whose lives she enriched with love and care.
Sue is predeceased by her husband, L. Dee Pike Jr., her parents Edward and Barbara Schoen, and her brother James Schoen. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched, a sweet reminder of joy, kindness, and devotion.
