Steven George Browne, "Steve," age 76 of Centerville, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025. He was born September 9, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Lela Browne.
Steve attended St. Gertrude's Elementary Class of 1962. He graduated from St. Xavier High School Class of 1966. He then furthered his education and graduated from the University of Cincinnati Class of 1970, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He is also a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. Steve retired from the United States Postal Service after 20+ years of employment.
Steve was a wonderful musician. Music was predominant in his early life. He began playing the accordion at the age of 7, and went on to play bass guitar and sousaphone. He was also the drum major at St. Xavier High School and Xavier University.
In addition to music, Steve enjoyed, camping, fishing, boating, and was a charter member of the Riverside Jaycees.
Steve will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He loved trading jokes and puns with friends and family alike, and was known for his cheesy greeting card selections.
Steve is survived by his children, Bryan (Colleen) Browne and Christen Browne (Gregg Richmond); grandchildren, Abby and Brayden Browne; sisters, Catherine (Randy) Overbeck and Patricia (Philip) Ruehl; nieces and nephews, Laura (Neil) Roble, Randy (Kim) Overbeck, Brent Overbeck, and Phil Ruehl.
