Steve Ullrich

Steve Ullrich, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 67. He was born on September 4, 1959, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Steve built a long and dedicated career as a computer engineer for Lexus Nexus, where he worked for 38 years. He brought the same steady commitment to his work that he brought to the people he loved. Very businesslike in many ways, Steve also loved to joke around, and those who knew him will remember both his sharp mind and his warm sense of humor. He was loyal, competitive, caring, and a true gentleman. Above all, he was a wonderful husband and father.

Outside of work, Steve found happiness in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. He enjoyed bicycling, camping, and fishing, and he especially appreciated his wife’s great home cooking. He also had a love of animals that was a cherished part of who he was.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Ullrich; father and stepmother, George and Jackie Ullrich; children: Jennifer and Jon Yates; brother, Tom Ullrich (Jerilynn); sister, Linda Roberts (Steve); brother, Ray Ullrich (Kathy); several nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by his fur babies: Emma and Maggie, and his fur grandchild, Gabby.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Nathlea Ullrich; and his brother, Chris Ullrich.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A graveside service will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45409.

Steve’s life was marked by devotion—to his work, to his family, and to the everyday joys that made life rich. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
