Stephen J. "Steve" Marzluf, age 77 of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 24, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio the son of the late Joseph Earl and Dorothy Mary Marzluf nee Shellhamer.

Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army. He then graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 1978 and ultimately, retired from AT&T as a business manager after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Steve will be remembered as an avid sports fan of the beloved Cincinnati Reds, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. In his free time, he spent countless hours reading and sitting on the back porch relaxing while watching the birds. He was also a classic car enthusiast. Steve loved his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends dearly. Those that knew him will miss his sense of humor and famous one-liners.

Steve is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay Marzluf nee Carter of Beavercreek, Ohio; children, Gunnery Sergeant USMC, ret. Brian (Gretchen) Marzluf of Ooltewah, Tennessee and Jen (Jason) Tavner of Xenia, Ohio; grandchildren, Jackson Marzluf of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Lance Corporals USMC, Rachel (Logan) Mason of Okinawa, Japan, Ethan (Josie Bodekor) Tavner of Miamisburg, Ohio, Addison Tavner of Xenia, Ohio and Elena Walsh of Xenia, Ohio; great grandchild, Luna of Okinawa, Japan; sister, Karen (Mike) Wymer of Las Vegas, Nevada; nephews, Lane (Jasmine) Wymer, Landon Wymer and Ayden Wymer all of Las Vegas, Nevada; niece, Julia (Derrick) Wells of Fort Worth, Texas; and cousin, Brad (Nancy) Laver of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Laura (Sam) McCoy of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law, Dave (Rita) Carter of Pikeville, Kentucky and numerous friends, neighbors and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses and Doctors at Miami Valley South and specifically the Critical Care Team at Miami Valley Main Campus, especially Ashley and Sarah, for all of their dedication and care during this difficult time.

Flowers may be sent to St. Luke's for the service or Memorial Donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul in Steve's honor.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with Mass to follow at St. Luke Catholic Church (1440 N Fairfield Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Steve will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio with full military honors following Mass.
