Stephen Lamont Marable, a man whose laughter and love touched all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2026. Born on November 4, 1976, in Dayton, Ohio, Stephen's journey was marked by hard work, strength, and an unwavering kindness that defined his every day.
A proud graduate of Meadowdale High School, Stephen built a life that reflected both his exceptional skills and his generous spirit. As a Master Plumber, he not only mastered his craft but also proudly owned and operated Marable's Drain Cleaning & Plumbing for 27 years, a testament to his dedication, steadfast work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. His recent accomplishment of earning his CDL showcased his relentless drive to grow and push forward, even after decades in his profession. For several years, he also lent his talents to Montgomery County Environmental Services as a CCTV Crew Leader, further illustrating his commitment to serving his community.
Stephen’s personality was a beautiful blend of humor and humility. Known for his dry wit and infectious laugh, he was a quiet and reserved soul with a profound kindness that radiated inward and outward. His selflessness and love were evident in every playful moment and heartfelt conversation. To his daughter Jordyn, whom he adored and spoilt, he was an amazing father. The bond they shared was heartwarming, highlighted by famous father-daughter pizza runs and treasured conversations over the phone.
Outside of his professional life, Stephen embraced a rich variety of interests that brought him happiness and connection. He enjoyed plumbing not just as work, but as a craft. Music and film provided entertainment and solace through concerts and movies, while his adventurous palate led him to try new restaurants whenever the opportunity arose. Stephen also held a special place in his heart for fishing trips with his father during his youth and treasured visits with his mother. His love extended warmly to his beloved dog, Rhianna, and he was committed to maintaining his health through regular workouts.
Stephen leaves behind a loving daughter, Jordyn Marable, and his dear fiancé, Rocquel Mitchell, who shared in the joyous moments of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Martha (LC) Robinson, Marvin (Matika) Marable, Dywayne Marable, David Hart, and Gilda Wynn; special friends, Jerry, Cornelius, Odell, Kat, Otis, and Quinn; all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. Alongside them stand many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives Stephen enriched with his presence. A special mention goes to the cherished children Priya, Decameryn, Adonis, and Zyiere, who were held close to his heart.
Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie "Louise" Marable; his father, Bert Hart; and his sisters, Athena Hart, Phyllis Hart and Jacquela Garrison. Their memories live within the fabric of his life and the stories shared by those who loved him deeply.
Though Stephen’s journey on earth has come to a close, the echoes of his laughter, the warmth of his kindness, and the strength of his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was an intelligent man full of unconditional love, optimism, and infectious humor that could bring a smile to anyone. Stephen will be profoundly missed, remembered always, and forever cherished.
