In loving memory of Stephanie Christine Cornett
08/05/1987-07/14/2025
With great sorrow and a few inappropriate jokes she would have absolutely approved of, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, friend, and favorite chaos creator, Steph (Blondie) who left us far too soon at the age of 37.
Born August 5, 1987, Stephanie packed more laughter, love, and wild stories into her years than most do in a lifetime. She was the baby of the bunch, our firecracker, our rule-breaker, our goofball with a PHD in self-deprecating humor and a certified inside joke maker with literally everyone she met.
To know her was to love her… and probably to have laughed until your stomach hurt at least once. She had that rare gift: the ability to make every moment memorable, whether it was a family get together, a Taco Bell run, or a totally unnecessary late-night road trip. If you were with her, life felt lighter, louder, and far more interesting.
But her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her daughter, Ryleigh Davis, who is her mirror image in every way. They shared the kind of bond that went beyond mother and daughter, they were twins in soul, smile, and sass. Their eyes would disappear into joyful slits when they laughed, and the love between them was so big, it filled everywhere they went.
She is survived by her heart and legacy, Ryleigh Davis; her father, James Weiss; her stepfather, Marcus Johnson; her sisters, Tammy Lewis, Cathy Weiss-Tate, Tasha Cornett, and Jessica Weiss; her brother, James Weiss and his partner, Ashley Jackson; Ryleigh’s father, Jedediah (Shane) Davis and his wife, Danielle Davis; her aunt, Jackie Isbell and family; nieces and nephews; Josh Weiss; Grace and Hannah Hobson; Gabrielle and Isabella Christman; Harrison Young; Shelby Mitchell; Daniele Dixon; Cameron and Adrianna Vazquez; Isaiah and Taylor Stewart; Matthew, Kayleigh, Zoey, and Kadence Weiss; many cousins, lifelong friends, and the kind of extended family you collect when you’re as unforgettable as her.
She was preceded in death by her niece, Emma Weiss; best friend, Angela Rioux; and mother Danna Johnson; whose passing left a wound she never quite healed from. But oh, how they’re laughing together now!
A proud graduate of Miamisburg High School, Class of 2006, Steph never met a rule she couldn’t bend or a piece of authority she couldn’t give the finger to, literally! She lived life unapologetically, loudly, and with zero regard for matching socks.
We will miss her every day but we’ll carry her with us in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the parts of her that live on in Ryleigh.
A celebration of her life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 8200 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. Dayton, Ohio 45458 on Friday, July 25th, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm.
In her honor, wear whatever you want, tell a dirty joke, and hug your people a little tighter, because that’s what she would’ve wanted.
