Listen to Obituary

Stephanie Sue Chalfan, affectionately known as “Caution,” passed away on May 29, 2026, just one day before her 56th birthday. Born on May 30, 1970, she lived a vibrant and devoted life marked by her spirited personality and deep love for her family and community.

Stephanie dedicated many years to public service as part of the Huber Heights 911 Emergency Dispatch and Miami Valley Care Flight teams. Her calm presence and quick thinking were a source of comfort and aid in moments of crisis. Beyond her career in emergency services, Stephanie was a talented entrepreneur, channeling her creativity into making exquisite jewelry and crafts which she sold on eBay, sharing her artistry with others.

She was a proud alumna of Wayne High School and The Ohio State University, institutions where she developed foundational skills and lifelong friendships. Steph was known for her “spitfire” spirit balanced by an immense kindness, a loving heart, and a keen sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her. Her devotion extended warmly to her husband, Herbert “Road Block” Chalfan; her daughter, Cheyenne "Speed Bump" (Brian) Flythe; and her extended family. Stephanie had an infectious love for life, complemented by her distinctive fondness for hairspray, sparkles, and perfume.

A true enthusiast of many interests, Stephanie loved watching true crime stories, adventures on the open road riding alongside her husband on his Harley, and participating in biker clubs with travels to the famed Sturgis rallies. Hawaii held a special place in her heart, representing a cherished escape and source of joy. Additionally, she was a dedicated lover of Chihuahuas, caring for many over the years and always delighted by their companionship.

Stephanie’s family ties were deeply significant to her. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Chalfan; her daughter, Cheyenne (Brian) Flythe; her mother-in-law, Andrea Millsap; brothers-in-law Rob Brokaw and Tim Chalfan; and a host of cousins and friends who celebrate her memory and the warmth she brought into their lives. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Lora Siler, as well as her father-in-law, Scooter Millsap.
