Sonja Ann Curtis

Sonja Ann Curtis, our angel, left us on June 8, 2026 at the age of 39 in Dayton, Ohio. Daughter to Jack and Beverly Koogler of Tipp City, Ohio, she grew up in Vandalia. She lived in Dayton, Ohio with her husband, Matthew Curtis and young daughter, Violet Brianne Curtis (Purple). 

She is also survived by her daughter Lillian Mabes and her son Coltyn Mabesboth of Vandalia, Ohio; stepchildren Matilyn Curtis and Alexander Curtis of Vandalia, Ohio; brother Jack Koogler Jr. of Tipp City, Ohio; sister Chrystal (Isaac) Williams of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandmother Mildred Griffin Fleenor of Medway, Ohio; and her best friend since childhood, Liz Brenner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sonja is preceded in death by her grandfather, John Griffin; grandfather Paul Eugene Koogler, and grandmother Lois Ann Koogler.

She was a member of Medway Church and will be deeply missed by everyone that loved her.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday June 16, 2026 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., in Dayton, Ohio. Sonja's service will begin at 7:00pm.
