Sondra Lee Vearn, born on November 15, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on January 13, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. She was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her loving spirit, generosity, and selflessness. Sondra's calming presence could bring comfort to those around her.
Sondra graduated from Belmont High School, Class of 1959, and furthered her education by studying business administration at the University of Cincinnati. She devoted many years of her professional life to serving others, most recently as an administrative assistant at Edward Jones after a long tenure at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Her dedication to her work and the people she served is a testament to her caring nature.
Above all, Sondra took immense pride in her family. She was the loving wife of Harry J. for 64 wonderful years. Their commitment to each other stands as a beautiful example of enduring love. Sondra is survived by her daughters, Amy (Tom) O'Grady and Lori (Dave) Goodfriend, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and compassion. She cherished her role as a grandmother, nurturing her grandchildren Justin (Kim) O'Grady, Kaitie (Matt) Drollinger, Meghan (Dennis) Zauner, Alexis and Kylie Goodfriend, and found immense joy in the laughter and energy of her great-grandchildren: Aiden and Abby O'Grady, Meyer Lynne and Dane Zauner, Alex and Maddie Drollinger.
Sondra shared a close bond with her sister, Sharon Lapp, and maintained significant relationships with her sister-in-law, Janet Fraver as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who filled her life with love and joy. Throughout her life, she had a passion for community service through being a charter member of the Kettering Noon Optimist Club. She donated over 100 units of blood to "babies in need". Sondra also enjoyed her monthly card club with her close friends for over fifty years.
She also loved cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and attending Dayton Dragons baseball as well as Wright State Men's Basketball games. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
Sondra is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Eby; her mother, Janet Bradford; her step-father, Wilbur Bradford; her sister, Verna Crowell; and her brother, Keith Fraver.
The legacy that Sondra leaves is one of integrity, love, and unwavering support will endure in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
