Smokey Charles McElroy, age 73 of Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1945 in Hope, New Mexico the son of Babe and Angie McElroy.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany. He worked in the oil fields for many years in New Mexico with his dog, Thunder. Smokey loved woodworking and playing the guitar with his grandson David. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was an active member. He loved his dog, Maggie.
Smokey is survived by his wife, Dona; daughters, Lena (Andy) Choquette, Rebecca McElroy and Rachel McElroy; step-daughter, Roxane (David) Nagel; step-son, Troy (Jenni) Weighall; sister, Babe McElroy and a host of grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service for Smokey will be conducted at a later date. He will be laid to rest in New Mexico. Check back for further details.
