Shirley E. Young

Shirley E. Young, age 81 of Monroe, Ohio went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2020. She was born January 22, 1939 in Covington, KY daughter of the late Edgar and Georgia Roden.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of the Truth Tabernackle Apostolic Church for many years. She was involved in AYS and Red Hatters. When her children were younger she was highly involved in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and whatever event her children were involved in. She enjoyed word search puzzles and going out to eat with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, U.L. Young; siblings, Marice Gene Roden, Mary Louise Haskell, and Wilma Matthews.

Shirley is survived by her children, Mark D. Young, Tammie (Robert) Klopf, and Kimberly (John) Leis; cousin, Jean Nantz; special friends, Debbie Brown, Brooke Laughman, Lawrence Ambromowitz; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Life long family friends, the Gifford Family, Sandlin Family, and the Hidlebaugh Family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton- Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).

Visitation will also take place prior to services on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 10:30-11am. With Funeral Services beginning at 11am at the Funeral Home.
