Shirley Anne Ray, 79 years old, formerly of Xenia, Ohio, passed away at Walnut Creek Nursing Center on August 9, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Shirley graduated from Patterson Co-Op High School in 1956.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a beautiful Christian who loved the Lord God and served Him. She was involved for many years with the Beavercreek Art Association and was one of the founding members of the Town and Country Art Gallery. One of her greatest joys was painting and bringing "life" to a canvas.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Glen Ray, daughter, Angela Jean Ray, parents; Harley and Grace Blair, sisters, Geneva Barnett and Sylvia Trimble.
She is survived by her daughter, Grace LeAnn Hill (Ed); son, Christopher Ray (Diana); son, Daniel Ray (Marie); grandchildren; John Hill (Becky); Aaron Hill (Aimee); Chris Hill (Cassie); Timothy Hill; Stephanie Clelland (Lucas); Benjamin Ray (Carrie); TJ Ray (Mallory); Zachary Ray; Elyssa Ray (Isaiah); Elora Ray; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence Blair; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lee and Ella Mae Gaines; sister-in-law, Winnie Ray; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio on Monday, August 14, 2017, from 6-8pm, with the funeral on Tuesday, August 15, at 10:00am.
