Shirley Ann Loeffelman, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Centerville, Ohio, at the age of 86. Born on April 13, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, Shirley was a vibrant presence in the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.
Shirley's professional journey began when she worked as a secretary at General Motors, where she met the love of her life, Joseph Loeffelman. The two were married on September 26, 1970, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family and friendship. After starting their family, Shirley chose to dedicate herself to raising her children, a role in which she excelled and found immense joy.
Known for her loving, funny, sassy, and kind nature, Shirley was always her children's biggest cheerleader, offering unwavering support and encouragement in all their endeavors. Her love extended further still when grandchildren came into her life; she truly lit up whenever they were around, creating cherished memories that will be held dear by her family.
Shirley graduated from Kaiser High School, Class of 1957. She enjoyed flowers and gardening in her free time. She also loved fashion and shopping, and will be remembered for always being the best-dressed in the room. More than anything, Shirley cherished the moments spent with her family, surrounded by laughter and love.
Shirley is survived by her children, Michele Huxtable, Jeff (Sheri) Loeffelman, and Nikki (Jeff) Trosper; her grandchildren, Alex (Katelyn) Loeffelman, Aundrea (Sam) Donald, Alyssa (Nic) Pepe, Anna (Shayne) Shubin, Jackson Trosper, Cole Huxtable, Carson Huxtable, Brayden Trosper, and Rylan Trosper; as well as her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Raegan, Lane, Zoey, Jace, and Logan. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda (Bill) Miller; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Allison and Marilyn Allison; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember her fondly.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Loeffelman; her parents; and her siblings, William "Bill" Allison, Jane Lucas, and Richard "Butch" Allison.
A visitation in honor of Shirley will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church (6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, OH 45459). She will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her boundless love and warm spirit.
