Shirley "Joyce" York

Shirley "Joyce" York, age 90 of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away with her family by her side on July 20, 2026. She was born July 1, 1936 in Logan, West Virginia. The daughter of the late Garrett Bush and Madeline (Lambert) Laquaglia.

Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a faithful member of the Nazarene Church for many years. Her pride and joy was her family and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to go on family vacations, often going to the beach and Disney World. Joyce had a passion for cooking, sewing, and gardening with her roses. Joyce will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Allen York; son, Douglas York; daughter, Jill Lanham; brothers, Bobby Bush and Fred "Garrett" (Donna) Bush; and brother-in-law's, Jim Swann.

She is survived by her daughters, Joy (Joseph) Chaney and Diana (Eric) Holliman; son-in-law, Charles Lanham; grandchildren, Jeremy (Michelle) Chaney, Jessica (Jason) Cook, Alissa (Nick) Brusky, Jared (Zoe) Holliman, Noel Lanham Combs, Ryan (Adrianna) Lanham; great grandchildren, Lilly, Gavin, Hayden, Jillian, Isabella, Jack, Emma, Elijah, Christian, Levi, Liam, Archer, Evey, and Caroline; great great granddaughter, Allora; sister, Dreama Swann; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 1-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 3pm also at the Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
