Shirley Ann Hendricks

Shirley Ann Hendricks passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2024 surrounded by close family.

She is survived by her husband Lewis, daughters Wanda Sue (Russ) Powell and Melissa (Tony) Shanks; grandsons Alec (Breanna Owens) Shanks and Jared (Hannah Keast) Shanks; sister Donna Stepp and brother Lee Coleman. She is also survived by close friends Vi Ferry and Tracie Ferrell as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Shirley was born on March 13, 1935 in West Virginia. She married Lewis on February 20, 1954 and they spent 70 years together. They raised their two daughters in Dayton, Ohio. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.

Shirley enjoyed sewing, golfing, cooking huge southern meals for her family and attending her grandsons' baseball games. She also enjoyed rooting for the Cincinnati Reds on TV. Spending time with her family and friends for any occasion brought her special joy. She will be so very missed by those that were blessed to have known her.

Public visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd) on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 3:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Shirley's memory to Heartland Hospice (https://www.gentivahs.com/about/donate/).
