Shirley Anne Mitchell

Shirley Anne Mitchell, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Beavercreek, Ohio. Born on February 7, 1939, in Newark, Ohio, Shirley dedicated her life to putting her family first and creating a nurturing environment filled with warmth and affection.

Shirley's spirit was as vibrant as the gardens she cherished. Her love for gardening reflected her nurturing nature, and her exquisite holiday decorations and floral arrangements brought joy to those fortunate enough to witness her creative touch. She worked hard in everything she did, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love that will continue through the generations she so deeply cherished.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Mary Spence, Becky Stamps, and Laurie (Robert Lee Jr.) Mitchell; her son, Tim Mitchell; and her grandchildren, Clayton (Missy) Spence, Kristen Stamps, Megan (Kyle) Redmond, Ashley (Matthew) Cooper, Kyrie Mitchell, and Kadyn Lee. The light of her life, her great-grandchildren, Avery, Graham, Micah, Stone (Maddy), Lincoln, Reagan, Brooks, Jack, and Coraline, will carry forth her spirit, alongside her great-great-grandchildren Aaron and Amara.

Shirley was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Donald Mitchell; her parents, Arthur and Ruth Bishop; her son, Joe Spence; her son-in-law, Larry Stamps; and her great-granddaughter, Zoey. Each of these loved ones held a special place in her heart, and their memory will forever remain alive within her family.

As we remember Shirley, we celebrate a woman who embodied strength and love, whose stubborn yet kind spirit made her family whole. She showed us all the importance of hard work, the richness of life through family bonds, and the beauty found in simple moments.
