Listen to Obituary

Sherry Diane Dahm, born June 14, 1942, in Maysville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.

Sherry had a deep faith and trust in Jesus Christ and attended Lifepoint Church in Kettering, Ohio every week for over four decades. Her strong faith, kindness, and generosity were evident to all who knew her. Known for her contagious laughter and joyful personality, Sherry approached life with optimism and humor that brightened the lives of everyone she met.

Sherry was as devoted to her family as she was to the church. Just as she dedicated herself to attending church every week, Sherry drove to Columbus visit her three youngest grandchildren, Anthony, Elena, and Nicholas, every week for the last eight years. She also spent countless weekends making memories with her oldest grandchild, Travis, visiting the Boonshoft museum, creek walking at Clifton Gorge or Grant Park, or watching movies.

Sherry’s other passions included horseback riding, competing in dressage shows, and water skiing in her younger years, and spending time at the lake or the beach. She loved spending time near the water and celebrated her birthday almost every year on Sanibel Island taking in the Sun and collecting seashells with her family. Sherry had a lifelong love of travel and a gift for planning, and she found great joy in organizing vacations, thoughtfully crafting itineraries that ensured every trip made the most of each moment.

Sherry was also bold. Soon after graduating from Stebbins High School, Sherry moved, by herself, to New York City and held her first job in the Big Apple before ultimately returning a few years later to make Kettering, Ohio, her home.

Before retiring in 2012, Sherry was also committed to her profession, as a diligent procurement officer and strong negotiator at Wright Patterson Air Force Base with thirty-five years of service.

Most of all, Sherry’s family was her greatest pride and joy, especially her grandchildren-Travis (Paige) Minser, Anthony, Elena, and Nicholas Dahm-who brought her endless happiness and purpose.

Sherry is survived by her loving children, Kurt (Renata) Dahm and Audrey (Todd) Whittamore; her cherished grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita (Tom) Fogle and Shelby Catron, and by her brothers, Dennis and Barry Catron.

Sherry Diane Dahm will be remembered for her radiant spirit, unwavering generosity, and the deep love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind.
