Shelby Lynn Strunk

January 7, 1998 — March 28, 2020

With profound sadness we mourn the passing of our dear daughter, Shelby Lynn Strunk, age 22, who entered into eternal peace on March 28th, 2020. Shelby was born on January 7th, 1998 in Indianapolis,IN, to proud parents; John Strunk and Tammy Jones.

Shelby grew up attending Southport High School as a happy and free spirited child with a strong love for family and friends. Growing up Shelby's sisters were her best friends and their friendship continued to get stronger through the years. With her bubbly and loving personality she found humor in pulling practical jokes while teasing them as only a sister could. Although they argued over clothes and makeup, Shelby loved each in their own special way and was passionately protective of them all. She was a bright shining light with a beautiful smile whose spirit touched many lives. Shelby was an avid lover of music and dancing and enjoyed singing to her favorite songs. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors; fishing, camping, spending time around bonfires, off road 4-wheeling and watching NASCAR with her mother. However, what brought Shelby the greatest joy and love to her heart, was spending time with her beautiful daughter, Mylee Lynn Applegate and her nieces and nephews.

Along with her loving father and mother, John Strunk and Tammy Jones; Shelby leaves behind a living legacy consisting of her darling, little girl Mylee Lynn Applegate; Childhood Sweetheart David Applegate of Indianapolis; sisters; Megan (husband Roger) Gray of Indianapolis, and Chelsie, Harley and Haley Strunk all of Indianapolis; maternal-grandmother, Della Handlon of Indianapolis; nieces, Zoie and Preslie Gray; Nephews, Landen and Liam Mays; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will continue to cherish the time and memories they have shared with her.

Shelby was preceded in death by her maternal-grandfather, Earl Hulsey; and paternal grandparents, William and Barbra Strunk; and sister, Macy Jones.

Shelby will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Out of respect for personal and public safety, a private family funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 6th, 2020 with Chaplain Jack Brown officiating at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227. Interment will be private at the New Crown Cemetery.
