It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shawna L. Wickline, age 40, of Dayton, Ohio. Shawna departed this world on Monday, February 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 26, 1985, to Tammy Maus (nee Amos), and lovingly raised by both Tammy Maus and Jody Maus, Shawna’s spirit and zest for life touched everyone who knew her.

Shawna was a gift to this world, embodying the essence of adventure and enthusiasm. A true lover of animals, she had a special bond with her beloved dogs, Zeke and Archie, and cherished her time spent horseback riding. She also found joy in the pages of the books she loved and the thrill of true crime podcasts. An avid soccer mom, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her son, Max, nurturing him with love and encouragement. Shawna was a free spirit, known for her infectious smile and her ability to make friends wherever she went.

Shawna loved rooting for Ohio State football and University of Dayton basketball, and throughout her life, she maintained a special connection to the number 28. Her kindness and warmth left an indelible mark on the hearts of her friends and family, who will remember her as someone who never met a stranger.

Shawna is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Marilyn Emanuel, maternal grandparents, William and Marilyn Amos, paternal Grandparents, Richard and Norma Maus, Aunt, Sharon Romer, and Uncle, Mike Mahaffey.

She is survived by her devoted mother, Tammy (Tom Stephens) Maus, loving father, Jody (Carol) Maus, her spirited son, Maximus Wickline, her brother Logan Maus, step-sisters Lindsey (Nathan) Creager and Melissa Neely, step-brother David Neeley, aunts and uncles, Chris (Bill Teal) Gibson, Rex Amos, Sue Mahaffey, Chris (Russ) Hignite, Dan (Marcy) Maus, many cousins including, Shelby, Ryan, Tate, Jennifer, and a host of other family members and friends.

In loving memory, contributions may be made in Shawna’s name to the Therapeutic Riding Institute at 3960 Middle Run Road, Spring Valley, Ohio 45370, an organization that embodies her love for animals and the therapeutic bond they can provide.
