Sharon Leanne Sowards, age 79 of Fairborn, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born August 26, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Florence Gallagher.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Sowards; grandson, James W. Foust; great granddaughter, Jacqueline Rose Carter; sister, Jean Reiter.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Mark) Foust, Vicky Karr; grandchildren Lacie Drake, David (Erika) Foust, Michael Foust; great grandchildren, Grace Carter, Christopher Drake, Kayleen Fortener; very close cousin, Emma Affourtit; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Sharon retired from civil service at Wright-Patt Air Force Base.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424). A Graveside Service will follow at 2 pm at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery (8135 N. Dixie Dr. Dayton, OH 45414), where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
