Sharon Ann Layer

Sharon Ann Layer, age 76 of Kettering, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at Oak Creek Terrace. She was born February 20, 1948 in South Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Willard and Edith Johnson. 

Sharon attended Middletown High School and graduated in 1965.  She retired after a long career at places such as Sealy Mattress Company in Middletown, Ohio, Columbia Engineered Rubber in Dayton, Ohio, and Dealers Wholesale in Indianapolis, Indiana where she made many close friends along the way.   In retirement she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games, and traveling. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Phillip Layer. 

Sharon is survived by her children, Mike (Renae) Layer and Melanie (Mike) Danber; grandchildren, Kyle Danber, Tyler Layer, Madison Layer and Caleb Danber; sister, Sandy Mendel and many other loving family members and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society at in Sharon's honor. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at Greenmont Hall - 20 Rembrandt Blvd., Kettering, OH 45420.
