Shannon Nicole Scobey, born on October 26, 1973, in Xenia, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2026. Her sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.
A graduate of Jay County High School in Portland, Indiana, Class of 1992, Shannon dedicated over 20 years to her career as a cosmetologist, specializing in hairstyling. Most recently, she was employed with Women’s Recovery, where her talents and compassionate nature made a meaningful impact on those she served. Her creativity extended beyond her profession; she cherished hobbies such as scrapbooking and shopping, and she had a special fondness for Mexican food. Shannon had a unique ability to bring joy to any occasion—she could make anything fun.
Those who were fortunate to know Shannon remember her as a joyful, kind-hearted woman who loved people deeply. She always sought the good in everyone, never met a stranger, and was known for her infectious laughter and cheerful disposition. Her love for Jehovah and her devotion to learning more about Him and His great qualities were central to her life and provided her with strength and inspiration.
Among Shannon’s proudest accomplishments were her beloved children and granddaughter. She treasured her time with her son Zachary Scobey, daughter Lauren (Garrett) Clements, and granddaughter Iris, all of Panama City Beach, Florida. Shannon especially enjoyed FaceTiming with Iris whenever she had the chance, a testament to the deep bond she shared with her family. In addition to her children, Shannon is survived by her loving mother, Patricia (Ricky) Amandio; sister, Stephanie Fleming; nieces Paige, Abby, and Emma; nephew Alex; and numerous extended relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Fleming.
Shannon’s bright spirit, generous heart, and unwavering kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. She lives on in the love she gave and the memories she created, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her family and friends. Her legacy is one of happiness, love, and the profound joy she found in connecting with others.
