Listen to Obituary

Scott Williamson, age 75, of the Dayton area, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, after a prolonged illness.

Scott was born to James W. and Ruth L. Williamson and raised in Dayton, where he remained his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandra “Sandy” Lamar; and his longtime companion, Kathy Richardson.

Scott met Kathy in 1967, and they shared nearly 50 years together until her passing in 2016. Together they enjoyed dinners at the Oakwood Club and built a life centered on routine, loyalty, and friendship.

Known for his strong work ethic, Scott began working at Northwestern Tool at age 18 and remained there throughout his career. He loved his job and often said he wouldn’t know what to do if he retired.

Scott was an avid bowler in his younger years and coached his company softball team. He enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns, Dayton Flyers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Philadelphia 76ers during the era of Dr. J and Moses Malone.

He had a lifelong love of cars and drag racing and took great pride in keeping his vehicles in excellent condition. Friends recall that wherever they went, it was always in Scott’s car.

Scott also enjoyed golf, darts, and friendly competition. He spent time daily with his “happy hour crew,” usually with a Budweiser in hand, sharing conversation and laughter. He faithfully played Keno seven days a week, always using the same four numbers — part of the routine that defined him.

He valued loyalty deeply. If Scott liked you, you were golden — and once you were in, you were in. But just like that, you could be out. His honesty was sometimes blunt, always genuine.

Scott is lovingly remembered by Kathy’s family, including her twin sister, Karen and her husband Larry, and her sister, Darlene and her husband Don. He is also survived by close friends Emilio and his wife Pat, Matt and Kia, Sam, Seth, Dave, Steve, Jimmy, Kevin, and many others.

Scott will be remembered as a hardworking, devoted friend who cared deeply for those around him.

Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm, on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am, on Monday, March 2, 2026, Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton.
