Saundra Sue Saurber

Saundra Sue Saurber, age 87 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at home. She was born June 24, 1939 in Greenville, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her father, Forest Wenger; mother, Mary Wenger; two sisters, Janet Wenger and Jean (Bill) Mason; beloved husband, Richard Saurber; daughter, Jill Meyers; and grandson, Matthew Rubin.

Saundra is survived by her son, Mark Taylor; grandchildren, Ryan Meyers, Nicole (Erik) Taylor, and Lindsay Rubin; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jaiden, Dominic, and Emma. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.

She dedicated 25 years of service as a secretary with the Huber Heights City Schools, where she was known for her hard work, warm heart, and friendly spirit. Family was the center of her world, and she cherished every opportunity to travel and create lasting memories with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes, rarely missing a game and always cheering enthusiastically for her teams. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping, and gathering with friends and family. Known for her kindness, loving nature, stubborn determination, and vibrant personality, she lived life to the fullest. She especially looked forward to her daily 5 o'clock cocktail, a simple pleasure she enjoyed with those she loved. She was deeply loved and generously cared for by her devoted husband, who never hesitated to spoil her. After years apart, she is now reunited with him once again, together in eternal peace.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 from 2pm - 3pm at Newcomer - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424). Celebration of life of life will be officiated at 3:00 pm, same date and location.
