Sandra Lee West, affectionately known as Sandy, passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on November 24, 1949, Sandra will be remembered as a kind and compassionate woman whose generous spirit touched the lives of those around her. She had a great sense of humor, was known to many as the cool grandma, and was someone who always took care of others with quiet devotion and love.
Sandy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She liked to plant flowers and enjoyed watching TV, creating moments of comfort and peace in the home and among the people she loved most. More than anything, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world, and the love she shared with them will remain one of the lasting treasures of her life.
She is survived by her children, Ronald, Brenda, and Mary; her grandchildren, Danny and Brandi, Bradley, Carlee and Nick, Courtney, Faith, Junior, and William; and her great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kylie, Charlee, Noah, Nora, Isla, and Arik. She is also survived by her brother, Charles and Sharon, and her sister Bert.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Charles Elrod; her mother, Mary Dee Elrod; and her daughter, Sherry Dee Johnson; and her sister, Janet Kelly.
Sandy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, in the laughter she inspired, in the care she gave so freely, and in the love that surrounded her throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:30pm on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Following the visitation, Sandy will be laid to rest at Springboro Cemetery.
