Sandra Rae Storms, fondly known as Sandy, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 27, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, she led a life rich in love, laughter, and memorable experiences.
Sandy enjoyed a fulfilling career as an accountant, having dedicated many years of service at Digitron before retiring. Her professional journey was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic, attributes that earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Those who knew Sandy would often recall her sassiness and infectious enthusiasm for life. She was a fun-loving individual, known for her kindness and caring nature. One of her cherished legacies will undoubtedly be her famous potato salad, which brought family and friends together during many gatherings.
Sandy had a passion for sports, frequently watching football and baseball games, reveling in the excitement they brought. Additionally, she was known to enjoy gambling, bringing a touch of thrill to her adventures. Her generous spirit was evident in her support for various animal shelters, where she devoted time and resources to make a difference.
She leaves behind her beloved family, including her sons, Sean (Natalie) Storms and Jason (Tina) Storms. Sandy’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jessica (Josh) Baillargeon, Cierra (Taylor) Trottier, and Nessa Storms, along with her great-grandchildren, Carson Trottier and Maisy Baillargeon. She is also survived by many other family members and friends who treasured her presence in their lives.
Sandy is predeceased by her father, her mother Helen Purdin, her beloved husband Richard Storms, two sisters, and her cherished dog Ginger, all of whom she held dear in her heart.
The rich tapestry of Sandy's life will be remembered by those who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on through her family and friends, who will carry forward her spirit and memories for years to come.
A memorial service will begin at 12:00 pm on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church (2841 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, OH 45420).
