Listen to Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Marie Rokette, age 76, died peacefully on January 26, 2026 at Springhills Singing Woods in Dayton after a long battle with Dementia.

Sandy was proceeded in death by her mother, Lois Smith and father, Stanley F. Trombley, and her husband, Robert Rokette (Dayton).

Sandy is survived by six sisters, Linda Webber (Harry), Nancy Pachin (Jim), Rita Bongarten, Joanna Kempka, (Marty), Ratasha Anderson (Todd), and Rebecca Dakin. She also has two brothers, Stanley Trombley Jr. (Christine), and Nathan Caulfield. Sandy’s two sons, Nicolas and Christopher Butterini as well as her grandchildren live locally.

One of Sandy’s greatest joys was gardening and her garden and backyard entertainment space that she and her late husband, Bobby, created was absolutely stunning. There were many parties Sandy and Bobby hosted there for her family and friends. Sandy loved to dance and you would find her and Bobby dancing at the local Veterans hall and elsewhere each weekend. Most of all, Sandy loved her family, and she loved deeply, and helped others in need. Sandy’s smile was contagious and she lit up a room when she entered.

Sandy loved the beach, previously had a beach home in Naples, Florida and visited her sister many times at her beach houses in North and South Carolina.

Sandy was a 1968 graduate of Northmont High School and she attended Sinclair College. Sandy was the President and CEO of San Rok at 88th Air Base Patterson and owned a retail in Fairborn, Ohio selling flags and military items..

The family would like to thank Springhills Singing Woods and Day City Hospice for their continued care and support throughout Sandy’s illness. We particularly want to thank Christa Hrovatic, her dedicated Hospice nurse.

Newcomers Funeral Home arranged for Sandy’s cremation and her ashes will be distributed during her Celebration of Life at Surf City beach in North Carolina.
