Sandra Kay Connors, a cherished matriarch and friend to many, passed away on November 17, 2025, at the Hospice of Dayton. Born on February 18, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, she devoted her entire life to her family, with a particular fondness for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.
Sandra was a beacon of love and compassion. Her warm spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of meeting her; she never met a stranger. Known for her infectious personality, she was a social butterfly, and her friends and family will fondly remember her as a wonderful listener who always made those around her feel valued and loved.
A woman of faith, Sandra was a devoted member of Moraine City First Church of God. She took great joy in participating in church activities, singing in the choir, running a card ministry, and assisting with vacation Bible school. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she consistently prayed for everyone in her circle.
In addition to her spiritual commitments, Sandra had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. Over the years, she was passionate about gardening, needlepoint, and crochet. Her love for games and crossword puzzles was matched only by her enthusiasm for travel, particularly in the beautiful fall months.
Sandra will be deeply missed by many, including her beloved husband of 59 years, Denzil Connors; daughters, Sharon (Reese) Ark and Sheila (Robert) Huffman; grandchildren, Ashley Ark, Ryan Huffman, Holly Huffman (fiance, Brandon), and Connor Ark; great-grandchildren, Alayna and Zeke; sister, Kimberly (Wayne) Hicks; sister-in-law, Rene Kirkman; brother-in-law, Clark Collins; along with numerous family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Esther Kirkman; sister, Phyllis Collins; brother, James W. Kirkman Jr.; and niece, Victoria Collins. The legacy of her love will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20th, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). Funeral service will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Donald Curtis officiating. Following services, Sandra will be laid to rest in Miami Corwin Cemetery.
