Sandra Lynn (Beck) Morris

Sandy Morris’ smile lit up the room. Her sense of fun was infectious. Her kindness and generosity were only eclipsed by her willingness to listen without judgement. The way she accepted people for who they are was extraordinary.

Sandy was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 7, 1944. Her family moved to Des Moines, IA during her early school years. Sandy met her future husband, Weston Morris, Sr., there when she was just 11 years old. She and Wes eventually settled in Crown Point, IN to raise their children and grow old together. Married for 44 years, he was devoted to her until his passing in 2009. Sandy was reunited with Wes -- and many other loved ones who are no longer with us -- in late June 2026.

Family meant the world to Sandy. She cherished her parents, Sam and Marilyn (Frasier) Beck, and her brothers Bill and Doug. Her two children, Weston Morris (Suellen Burns; Chicago, IL) and Wendy Bultman (John; Huber Heights, OH), were her pride and joy. She was a GREAT mom who supported them in everything they did. She made her three granddaughters, Edie Morris, Cheyanne Guerra, and Jessica Bultman, feel like they were the most special people in the world. She was close to numerous cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. Four great grandchildren in her final years were a special blessing.

Sandy could put just about anyone at ease. She was a nurse for four decades. Always warm and nurturing, many patients remember Sandy as their favorite person at the doctor’s office.

Her humor was abundant. Her sense of adventure occasionally surprised and always delighted us. She was an avid gardener. She enjoyed reading and, as a young girl herself at the time, was deeply moved by “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl.” Sandy adored animals. Dogs of any kind and birds, particularly cardinals, had a special place in her heart, as did her church community. Sandy had many dear friends. She and Nyleve Taylor were so close they considered themselves sisters.

Sandy’s home was filled with photos and mementos from those she loved. And holiday decorations! These treasures brought her so much happiness.

Her family chose a private memorial service for Sandy. They invite anyone who would like to honor her memory to make a donation to First United Methodist Church (Crown Point, IN) or the American Civil Liberties Union.

Sandy was fond of a quote written by J.M. Barrie for Peter Pan: “Never say goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.” See you later, then, dear Sandy. We will never forget you.
