Sandie Hyden, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 21, 2025, in Tipp City, Ohio, at the age of 83. Born on August 10, 1942, in Montevideo, Minnesota, Sandie lived a life filled with purpose, kindness, and dedication.

Sandie enjoyed a remarkable career that spanned 38 years, working with the federal government in various roles at the Pentagon and the White House. Her remarkable drive and intelligence allowed her to quickly ascend the professional ladder, making a meaningful impact.

Sandie was an outgoing and generous woman, always ready to lend a hand to others. Her strong commitment to her church and her beliefs were cornerstones of her life, reflecting the values she held dear. Sandie was known for her caring nature and was always devoted to her family and friends.

Sandie was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Keller, Texas. In her spare time, Sandie found joy in several hobbies. A lover of jigsaw and crossword puzzles, she could often be found engrossed in a book or bird watching. She cherished the companionship of the many dogs she had throughout her life and held a special place in her heart for travel, particularly her trips to Great Britain.

Sandie is survived by her son, Michael (Bettye) Davis; step-children Julie (Steven) Houk, Jennifer (Russ) Pesut, and Brad (April) Hyden; grandchildren Jessica Yane, Ashley Kochel, Megan (Jordan Smith) Yane, Andrew (Emily) Yane, Lucas Houk, Jacob Pesut, Abigail Pesut, Anne Marie Pesut, and Aryanna Hallows; great-grandchildren Sean, Sophia, Owen, Landon, Ella, and Charlie; brothers David (Liz), Lief (Deborah), Martin, and Jim (Amy) Stratmoen; sister Irene Pence; her beloved dog Lexie; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sandie was preceded in death by her husband, Larry C. Hyden; her father, Merlin Stratmoen; and her mother, Evelyn Stratmoen.

As we remember Sandie, her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering commitment to her family and faith will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the warmth she brought to the world.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Care 360 Hospice in appreciation for their loving support.
