Listen to Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel Wilson, a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, who left us far too soon on April 15, 2026, just days after his 21st birthday. Born on April 12, 2005, in Dayton, Ohio, Sam was a beacon of light and love to those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Sam spent his life in Dayton, a city he cherished and called home. From a young age, it was clear that Sam was destined to touch lives with his adventurous spirit and boundless energy. He attended St. Peter Elementary where he made countless memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime. He attended Carroll High School before graduating from Dixie High School.

He was the cherished son of Anthony and Karen Wilson. Sam is survived by his loving sister, Katelynne, whom he adored, and her husband Jacob Green. His niece, Madelynne Green, was a particular joy in his life, and he took pride in being her uncle. His extended family, including Grandma Judith Haines, Grandparents Paul and Sandy Wilson, Uncle Scott and Sharon Weaver, Aunt Judy Weaver, Uncle Gary Weaver and Timothy Snyder, Aunt Vicki and Jason Singer, and Aunt Lori Haines, were all dear to him. His cousins Jessica McCune, Kyle McCune, Max Kaneshiro, Ella Kaneshiro, Jackie Singer, and Rebecca Bedwell held a special place in his heart. Sam's beloved puppy, Tommy, was his constant companion and brought him endless happiness.

Sam was preceded in death by his Aunt Donna Weaver, Grandpa Fred Haines, Nana Valeta Weaver and Papaw John Weaver.

Sam was a young man of many talents and interests. He worked alongside his father, learning the construction trade. His work ethic was evident in every task he undertook, from his part-time job at Yum Yum's drive-through to his first job at the Dayton Country Club. Sam had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome, a testament to his kind and generous heart.

The great outdoors was Sam's sanctuary. He found joy and peace in hiking, canoeing, playing frisbee golf, golfing, and biking. His adventurous spirit often led him to explore new trails and challenges, always with a smile on his face and a story to tell.

Sam’s smile would light up the room. His quick wit and infectious smile were his trademarks, and he had an extraordinary gift of making everyone feel included and valued. imagination was vast, and his heart even bigger. He was devoted to his family and friends, caring deeply for those around him. Sam was known as the sweetest kid, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.

In this time of loss, his family wants everyone to remember the profound impact Sam had on their lives. They share this heartfelt message: "Never underestimate the hole your absence would leave behind." His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will continue to inspire those who knew him.

As we say our final goodbyes to Sam, let us hold onto the beautiful memories and the lessons he imparted. May his adventurous spirit live on in our hearts, and may we honor his life by living fully and loving deeply, just as he did.
