Samuel S "Sam" Rogers, age 60, of Cedarville, died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his home. Sam was born on October 16, 1962, in Middletown, the son of Anthony "Tony" and Sandra "Sandy" (Schoultis) Rogers.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Police Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and after a brief service with the Xenia Police Department, found his calling working for AT&T for over 33 years.
Sam was an avid weightlifter and competed in many Strongman competitions, winning many awards. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hiking, and camping. He was an excellent gardener and produced a huge garden he loved sharing with his family, friends, and neighbors.
Of all his many accomplishments, none could ever compare to his love of being a father to his 3 sons, Samuel M. "Max" (Jessica) Rogers, Duncan L. Rogers, and Keegan A. Rogers. He will also be missed by his 4 grandchildren: Slade, Waylon, Emma, and Georgia. He loved his children and grandchildren and shared his love of the outdoors by taking them fishing and camping and attending many sports, scouts, or school events, cheering them on from the sidelines.
He is lovingly survived by his mother, Sandy Rogers, his brother Matt (Wendy) Rogers, and sister Kati (Richard) Halloy, and many nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his father Tony Rogers and younger sister, Varina "Rina" Rogers.
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
