Samuel D. Cooper Jr, 81 of Xenia, OH passed away March 7th, 2020, at Heartland of Beavercreek after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 8th, 1939 in Lyndon, OH, the son of Elizabeth (Smith) Cooper and Samuel Cooper Sr.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Defense Electronics Supply Center (DESC) formerly in Kettering, OH. Sam was a loyal member of the Lions Club and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also a dedicated member of City of Zion Baptist Church in Jamestown, OH.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Christopher Andre Smith.
He is survivied by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Gibbs) Cooper; two daughters Andrea (Ted) Smith of Springsboro, OH and Angela (Craig) Murray of Indianapolis, IN; grandaughter Tedi (Brendan) Oberkircher, and great grandson James Oberkircher of Cincinnati, OH.
A celebration of life service will be announced for a later date.
