Rylie Scott Ryan, a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, great grandson, nephew, and friend, was born on September 25, 2006, in Dayton, Ohio. His radiant spirit and infectious laughter touched the lives of everyone around him. Having attended Prass Elementary, Rylie proudly graduated from Northmont High School in 2025. During his time in school, he became known for his big heart and remarkable personality, a presence that could lift anyone's spirits instantly.
Rylie was a jovial jokester, always ready to share a laugh or spontaneous song that would brighten the day. He loved to express himself in his own playful language and shared many joyful moments racing down hallways and playing outside. His resilience shined through even on challenging days when Rylie, with his brave face, would continue to bring joy to others, reminding them of the beauty of the present moment.
Rylie cherished his connections with those who cared for him, especially his nurses and doctors at Children's Hospital, who he considered family. As a young individual, he demonstrated an immense capacity for love and friendship, proving to everyone that it was the bonds we form that truly matter.
He is survived by his loving mother, Meranda Wiggins, and father, Seth Ryan. Rylie was a devoted brother to Jordan Sherrill, Abby Sherrill, Anthony Sherrill, Peyton Wiggins, Paige Wiggins, Cory "C.J." Wiggins, Natalie Ryan, Jacob Ryan, Veronica Ellison, and Jeffrey Ellison. His young heart embraced his nieces and nephews—Addison Sherrill, K.J. Cook, Jaxon Sherrill, and Addilyn Cornett, —with the purest affection. Rylie's family also includes grandparents, Brad (Laura) Meeker and great-grandmother Maxine "G.G." Ankeny. He shared laughter with his uncles, Brad (Jessica) Sherrill, Joshua Sherrill, and Marty Ryan, as well as his aunts, Andrea (J.D) Baker, Elizabeth Preist, Heather McGee (Will Lewis), and Dani (Josh) Carl; and countless cousins.
Though he left this world too soon on May 28, 2025, Rylie's legacy will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was predeceased by his brother, Jeremiah Wilcox, and his maternal grandparents, Pamela Sherrill and Hubert Sherrill; alongside his paternal grandfather, Michael Ryan; grandmother, Susan Long; great-grandmothers, Joann (Orbin) Rowland and Louise Streully; cousin, Jeremy Sherrill; and uncles, Ronnie Price and Jerry Sherrill; and aunt, Erica Ray.
As we reflect on Rylie's life, we cherish the memories of his boundless joy and love. The laughter he shared, the warmth of his heart, and the strength of his spirit will continue to inspire everyone he left behind. Rylie Scott Ryan will be missed deeply but never forgotten.
