Ruthmae Cromley (Phillips) Hamilton, born March 13, 1918 in Palestine, OH, passed away on April 2, 2016, Dayton OH. She is survived, by her daughter Anita Hamilton, sons William (Dianne) Hamilton, Gerald Hamilton, Waldo Hamilton, Allen Hamilton, daughter Lucille (Steven) Shoup, 14 grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, sister Esther Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and adored.

Ruthmae is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William Allen Hamilton, daughters Harriet Gaston, Virginia D'Elia; parents Matthew and Bessie Phillips; siblings/in-laws Harry (Mary) Phillips, Ethel (Jerry) Moore, Carl (Martha) Phillips, Troy (Evelyn) Phillips, Olive (Fred) Alexander, Mary Ellen (Bart) Wolf, Beulah ("Mac") DeMoss, Leo (Audrey) Phillips, Mabel (Carl) Burckle, Walker Lewis.

Ruthmae was a 1936 graduate of Palestine H.S. and a graduate of Miami Jacobs Junior College. Before marrying a widower with 7 children, she worked in Dayton at Central Steel & Wire, Shank and List Law Offices, W. W. Boes Company, Standard Radio & Electronics, Link Aviation, Marechal & Biebel Law Offices, Grace United Methodist Church, Everybody's Office Outfitters, and Frigidaire. She was a long time member of Grace UMC where she was a Thrift Shop volunteer, member of UMW, Circle, and helped in many other areas of service. She was most recently a member of Normandy Church. She had been in the PTA, Music Club, Women's Club, Burroughs Nature Club and PEO. In addition to her social clubs, Ruthmae also enjoyed attending the Philharmonic and the Opera, but she most enjoyed being around family. She will be sorely missed by all.

Private Interment will be at the Dayton National Cemetery on Friday, April 15. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex Bell Rd., Centerville, OH 45459.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children in Cincinnati, Alzheimer's Association Miami Valley Chapter, or the charity of your choice.
