Ruth Ellen Bohram (Payner), a cherished member of her family and community, was born on May 7, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio. She gracefully journeyed through life until her passing on December 15, 2025, at The James in Columbus, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A proud graduate of West Carrollton High School, Class of 1980, Ruth dedicated over 20 years of her professional life to Dollar General. Her unwavering commitment as an employee and her fierce dedication to her family defined her spirit. Ruth was not only a devoted wife to her beloved husband of 40 years, Michael Bohram, but she was also a loving mother and a delighted grandmother. She raised two beautiful daughters, Candace (Henry) Borham-Williams and Kelly (John) Iker, and cherished her role as a grandma to Bryce "Boo," Zoey, Jovie, and Wake.
Ruth's personality shone brightly throughout her life. She was known as the most selfless person, possessing an enormous heart and a great sense of humor. Her feisty nature and big personality endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Ruth brought joy and laughter into every interaction, always ready to drop whatever she was doing to support her family and friends. She cultivated an environment where conversations flourished, and her loved ones felt safe sharing their thoughts and dreams.
In her leisure time, Ruth found happiness in watching NASCAR and delighting in shopping for her grandkids. However, her greatest joy came from spending quality time with her family, creating lasting memories that they will carry with them.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Delores and Jacob Payner, and her in-laws, Edwina and Frank Bohram. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished by her husband Michael, daughters Candace and Kelly, grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to experience her boundless affection.
Ruth Ellen Bohram will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a powerful force of love and kindness, reminding us of the importance of family, laughter, and the profound impact one person can have on the lives of many.
