Ruby Helen Todd, a cherished soul who graced this world with unparalleled compassion and benevolence, departed this life on November 1, 2024, in Kettering, Ohio. Born in 1925, in the quaint town of Riverton, West Virginia, Ruby was a beacon of kindness and was caring, embodying the spirit of generosity that touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.
For 29 years, Ruby dedicated herself to her career at General Motors, where her industrious nature and commitment to excellence were evident. However, her true legacy transcends her professional accomplishments; she was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who made it her mission to ensure that no one ever experienced hunger in her home. Ruby embraced everyone with an open heart and welcomed all into her life, creating a nurturing environment that fostered love and connection.
Ruby is survived by her beloved children: Gary (Lynn) Todd, Terry Pack, Dory (Bobbie) Miller, Debra (Essam Kobesy) Kibler, and Randy Todd. Her legacy continues through her 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sara Alice; each carrying forward the warmth and kindness she so selflessly exemplified. Additionally, she leaves behind a vast circle of family and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
She now joins her dearly departed husband, James Todd; her daughter, Sona Hendrickson; and her beloved siblings—Bill, Bob, Gracie, Sherry, Guy, Smiley, Joe, Hank, and Mike. The love she shared with her granddaughter, Angie Leis, and her son-in-law, Greg Pack, continues to resonate even in their absence, demonstrating the bonds of affection that death cannot sever.
A visitation in honor of Ruby's life will be held on November 9, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 5:00 PM, allowing family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable life of Ruby Helen Todd.
Ruby will be laid to rest with James at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at 1:00pm on Monday, November 11, 2024.
In her unwavering quest to spread love and kindness, Ruby has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Her legacy of generosity and compassion will forever inspire those who had the honor of calling her mom, grandma and friend. As we gather to commemorate her life, we find solace in the memories of her warmth and the love that will forever remain in our hearts.
