Ruby Carol Pigman, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Beavercreek, Ohio. Born on July 17, 1933, in Paintsville, Kentucky, Ruby's life was marked by devotion to family, community, and a love for gardening and travel.
Ruby graduated from Stivers High School and, alongside her husband Olis Pigman, whom she lovingly remembered after his passing in 1997, owned and operated the Imperial 400 Motel from 1969 to 1997. Her work ethic and warmth were hallmarks of her career and personal life.
An active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Jacob Eby Chapter (West Carrollton), Ruby dedicated 60 years to the organization, embodying the spirit of friendship and service. She was an avid gardener with a particular passion for roses, tending to her yard with great care and joy
Travel brought Ruby immense happiness, and she treasured trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and frequent visits to Florida. But above all, her greatest joy was her family. As a devoted mom, Nanny, Great-Nanny, and Great-Great Nanny, she took pride in attending every game and event of her great-grandchildren, where she was affectionately known simply as “Nanny.” Her pride in her family was evident to all who knew her.
Ruby’s social nature led her to form lasting friendships wherever life took her. A dear lifelong friend, Roberta Barnes, whom she met at McCalls at the age of nineteen, remained close throughout the years. She also enjoyed wonderful friendships in Columbus, Indiana, and treasured the neighborly bonds with the Ennis family in West Carrollton.
Ruby is survived by her beloved daughter, Carol Rae (Mike) Fiorentino; granddaughter, Carrie-Anne (Bill) Heincker; grandson, Mike S. (Krista) Fiorentino; three great-grandsons, Stephen M. Sartoris, Nick W. Sartoris, and Aksel S. Fiorentino; great-granddaughter, Laila E. Fiorentino; two great-great-granddaughters, Maggy Ruby Sartoris and Raelynn Ann Sartoris; and numerous other family and friends who will dearly miss her presence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olis Pigman; great-granddaughter, Gracie Rae Purdum; lifelong friend, Roberta Barnes; mother, Anna Laura Trimble; father, Robert Trimble; brother, Charles Trimble; and sister, Fran Tague.
The family expresses deep gratitude to the compassionate staff at Brookdale of Beavercreek and Hospice 360 for their exceptional care and support for Ruby.
A visitation will be held on April 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439. All who knew Ruby are welcome to attend and honor her remarkable life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to Hospice 360 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in memory of Ruby.
Ruby Carol Pigman will be remembered for her enduring kindness, her tireless dedication to her family, and the joyful spirit she brought to every aspect of her life.
