Ruby Jane Darding, age 88, of Jamestown, passed away on August 7, 2026. Born in Alpha, Ohio, on September 16, 1937, she was the daughter of Harold and Florence Masters.
Ruby dedicated many years to nurturing young minds as a Pre-School Teacher at Kirkmont Presbyterian. She enjoyed traveling in the motor home with her husband, children and grandchildren for many years. Ruby also loved her time spent wintering in Florida with her husband for several years. Ruby’s heart was truly with her family; her unwavering support for her grandchildren’s sports and activities was a testament to her love. Known for her dry sense of humor, she was a compassionate listener and a steadfast supporter of her family.
She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Cheryl Kirk and Linda Christopherson; son, Richard "Rick" (Sue) Darding; grandchildren, Daniel (Melissa) Kirk, Brian (Jennifer) Kirk, Camden (Justin) Wallen, Travis (Linsey) Christopherson, Isaiah Christopherson, Justin (Amanda) Darding and Casey (Rickey) Ford; and great-grandchildren, Macy Kirk, Andrew & Oliver Kirk, Arrianna & Corbin Wallen, Beckett & Baylor Christopherson, Greyson Darding, and Atley Ford. She also leaves behind nephews, Kenney (Diane) Linebaugh and Scott (Christine) Myers; and nieces, Cindy (Greg) Medina and Sonja (Steve) Johannes.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Richard Darding; infant brother William "Billy" Masters; sisters, Mary Linebaugh and Doris Madson; niece Patricia Madson Smith; and her son-in-law Donnie Kirk.
Graveside Services will be held at a later date by her family.
