Roy V. Morelan

Morelan, Roy V., age 90 of West Carrollton, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Sycamore Hospital, Miamisburg. Roy was born October 10, 1927 in Etowah, TN to the late Taylor and Nilah (Spearman) Morelan.

In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys "Jean" (Whittamore) Morelan and his siblings, Ray, Ralph and Mildred.

Roy is survived by his son, Ronald V. Morelan of West Carrollton; daughter, Pamela J. Cox of Columbus; granddaughter, Patricia Cox and other extended family.

Roy graduated high school in Tennessee and honorable served in the US Army during the Korean War as a Private First Class. Following his service, Roy moved to the Dayton area for work. He held many positions as an employee of General Motors before retiring after more than 30 years as a quality inspector. Roy was a member of the Moraine Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed his retirement very much. He spent much of his free time taking walks, watching TV and talking with friends.

Family will receive guests from 9:30-11:00 am Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral; Home – Kettering. Services will follow at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Terrell Hudson and concluding with procession to Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg for burial with military honors.
