Rose Janelle Cotton

Rose Janelle Cotton, age 25 of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2026. She was born May 18, 2001 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The daughter of Alonzo Cotton and Shawn Sturdivant.

Rose was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a 2019 graduate from Trotwood High School. Rose was employed with McDonalds where she loved her job. She loved Anime, talking and hanging out with her friends, shopping, and going out to eat. She had a passion for gaming and art. Rose's family was the most important thing to her, she enjoyed traveling and doing whatever she could with them. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Ishmael Sturdivant; paternal grandmother, Rose Cotton; uncle, John Tyrone Sturdivant; and great aunt, Julia DeLois Washington.

She is survived by her parents, Alonzo Cotton and Shawn Sturdivant; siblings, Sacha (Mohammad) Diawara, Andrea (Derrik) Murphy, Emmanuel Porter, Tamika Cotton, Alisya Cotton, Alonzo Cotton Jr., and Janelle (Gerald) Lucas; maternal grandmother, Mary Sturdivant; nieces, Naiomi Natasha Price, Noa Love Murphy, and Shia Le'Ore Murphy; nephews, Eli Tobias Smith and Ishmael Samir Diawara; her beloved fur baby, Imari; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 12pm to 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 2pm with cousin Darryl Fluker officiating.
