Rose Floyd-Moorman

Rose Ellen Floyd-Moorman of Xenia, Ohio, passed away on May 13, 2026 at the age of 80. Rose was born in Glenville, WV, and later moved to Dayton, Ohio, where she graduated from Stebbins High School in 1963. Rose graduated from Sinclair Community College in 1990 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science. Rose was a faithful employee at the Defense Electronic Supply Center(DESC) Air Force, where she worked in the Procurement Department until its closure in 1997. Rose enjoyed volunteering at The Hearth Food Pantry at East Dayton Christian Church from 2017 to 2026.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Richard(Rick) Moorman, from 1994 to 2001 until his passing in 2001; her brother, Gary Miller, in 1980; her mother, Mary V. Miller, in 2005; and her brother James Boggs in 2016.

Rose leaves behind her beloved family members: Brother Daniel(Robin) Miller of Xenia, Ohio; Niece Stephanie Miller of Dayton, Ohio; Nephews Ronnie Boggs of Atlanta, Georgia, Thomas Miller of Springfield, Ohio, and Mark Miller of Xenia, Ohio; Great Niece Avaria Lanham-Miller of Springfield, Ohio; Cousins Mike(Susan) Matingly of Mentor, Ohio, and Mike(Deloris) Thompson of Weston, WV.

Celebration of life services will be held on June 13, 2026, at 1pm to 3pm at East Dayton Christian Church, 3415 Linden Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45410.

In place of flowers, please make donations to The Humane Society of Greater Dayton Adoption Center, and/or East Dayton Christian Church. Rose had a tremendous passion for animals throughout her life and loved every animal along her journey. Rose also enjoyed making the children’s treat bags at The Hearth Food Pantry and took great pride in ensuring every child in need had a wonderful snack or two.
