Ronald Theodore Herzer, Sr., 82, of Dayton, passed away February 10, 2016. Ronald was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 30, 1933 to the late Clarence Herzer and Amelia Schreiner. Ronald served in the Army from 1952-1956 and retired from the Air Force in 1978 after 21 years of service. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a past master of the Masonic lodge of Knollwood #774, VFW in Fairborn #777, Eagles of Huber Heights and Amvets of Huber Heights. He was also a beloved member of the Eastview Recreation Center in Riverside.
He is survived by his sons, Don (Cathy) Herzer, John (Rena) Herzer, Dan (Sarah) Herzer; grandchildren, Denise (Mike), Melissa, Josh (Jane), Jacqueline, Taylor, Sydney, Jenna, Tyler; great grandchildren, Grace, Isaiah, Ailee, Nora; sister, Shirley Hammel; sister in law, Sherry (John) Carlisle; special friends; and many other relatives and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy Herzer; and son, Ronald Herzer, Jr.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton.
Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10am.
