Ronald Lee Pruiett, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 73. Born on October 10, 1951, Ronald lived a life marked by dedication to his family and commitment to serving his country and community.
Ronald proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he specialized in law enforcement and working with dogs. This experience laid the foundation for his career as a security guard and police officer in his younger days, showcasing his unwavering commitment to protecting others.
A true people person, Ronald had a remarkable ability to connect with anyone he met. His friendly demeanor and approachable nature made him beloved among friends, family, and colleagues alike. Ronald's charisma was matched only by his love for family, which remained at the center of his life. He cherished the time spent with his wife, Marie Pruiett, to whom he was married for 31 wonderful years, and held deep pride in his roles as a father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by his sons, Ronald E. Pruiett and Jason A. Pruiett, as well as his step-son, Homer L. (Lori) Herald, Jr. His legacy will endure through his cherished grandchildren, Jaiden Pruiett, Blake Harbin, Roxie Herald, and Jeremiah Herald, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Robin Herden, who shared many treasured memories with him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Pruiett, his mother, Dixie M. Roberts, his step-son James M. Herald, and his brothers, Ricky Pruiett and Billy Roberts.
In addition to his family ties, Ronald was an avid movie lover, particularly enjoying westerns. His memory will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him, as they hold onto the countless stories shared and the warmth he brought into their lives.
The loss of Ronald Lee Pruiett leaves a significant void, but his spirit will continue to shine through the lives of those he has touched throughout his journey. He will be deeply missed by all, yet fondly remembered for his kindness, dedication, and love of family.
