Ronald Claude Griffith, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away on October 9, 2026, in Dayton at the age of 82. He was born on February 22, 1944, in Otsego, West Virginia.
Ronald lived a life marked by service, steady work, and the simple pleasures he enjoyed most. He proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years and was part of Desert Storm, a chapter of his life that reflected his dedication and commitment. Following his military service, he worked at General Motors, where he retired after 30 years. In his free time, he could often be found fishing or riding his motorcycle, pursuits that brought him enjoyment and reflected his independent spirit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ethel (Byrd) Griffith; his sisters, Ruby, Betty, Joe Ann, and Lena; and his brothers, David, Thomas, and Harry.
Ronald leaves behind a loving extended family who will remember him with affection and gratitude. He is survived by his nephews, Mark (Jacqui) Griffith, Tom (Teresa) Griffith, Jerry (Rita) Green, Donald Green, Lee Griffith, Tony Mattera, and Mike Mattera; and by his nieces, Nancy Dodgen, Barbara Green-Cook, and Carmen Mattera; and his sister-in-law, Mary J. Griffith. Their memories of him, and the bond they shared as a family, will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Ronald Claude Griffith will be remembered for a life of duty, hard work, and enduring family connection. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
