Ronald Darnell

May 30, 1955 — October 24, 2025

Ronald Darnell, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Huber Heights, Ohio. Born on May 30, 1955, in Saltville, Virginia, Ronald was a man whose warm spirit, capable hands, and adventurous heart touched all who knew him. He was best known as “Mr. Fix It,” capable of mending anything that life threw his way, with an innate ability to brighten the days of his loved ones.

Ronald will be remembered for his passionate love for the outdoors. He found joy in NASCAR, deer hunting, fishing, camping and riding four-wheelers, sharing these delightful moments with family and friends. One of his favorite memories was traveling alongside his beloved wife, Susie, to the beautiful sights of Gatlinburg, where they created lasting memories and deepened their bond. Their journeys together were not only adventures but expressions of their enduring love.

Ronald's family was the center of his universe. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Susie Darnell, and seven loving children: Angela Burton, Brandi Hunter, Carolyn (Daniel) Frizzell, Lynn (John) Lucas, Jennifer Gunter, Toby Byrd (Ariel Ivey), and Dylan Byrd (Marah Click). His legacy lives on through his adoring grandchildren and his precious great-grandchild, Toby Byrd Jr., who brought joy to his life. Ronald is also survived by his siblings, Bill (Pam) Darnell and Donald (Vanessa) Darnell, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his loyal companion, Shadow, affectionately known as “Babygirl.”

Preceding him in death were his devoted parents, Eugene and Helen Darnell, and his brother, Ralph Darnell, who surely welcomed him with open arms.
