Roger K. Spivey

Roger K. Spivey, age 79 of Bellbrook, OH, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family at his home in Bellbrook. He was born October 7, 1941 in Livingston, KY to the late Reilies and Anna Lee (McClure) Spivey.

Left to cherish Roger's memory are his wife of 26 years, Carol "Susie" Matney Spivey; daughter, Cindy Spivey; step-son, Christopher Dooley; grandchildren: Kyle Osborne, Robert Jordan, Ryan Jordan, Phillip Smith Jr., and Cayden Smith; brother, Dan (Linda) Spivey; sister, Donna (Brad) Goffena; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Roger was a kind, loving, person, who was a joy to be around. He accepted everyone as they are, and gave everyone a chance. He had a way of making everyone feel special. Roger was an avid bicyclist. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including camping, and boating. He loved all animals, and enjoyed being out in nature. Most of all, Roger enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Rosalind Leighty; and brother-in-law, Jerry Leighty.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek) where a funeral service celebrating Roger's life will follow at 6:00 pm.
