Rochelle B. Ellis, a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, a vibrant spirit who brought joy to everyone around her, was born on May 22, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio. She passed away on February 23, 2026, in Englewood, Ohio. Her life, filled with love, laughter, and a remarkable zest for life, will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rochelle was a devoted cosmetologist who spent her entire career doing hair, transforming her clients not only with beautiful styles but also with her warm personality. Those who sat in her chair often left feeling not just more beautiful, but uplifted by her fun and bubbly nature. Rochelle's passion extended beyond her profession; she embraced life with vigor and delighted in dancing, shopping, and scouting out the best bargains. Her enthusiasm for bowling and roller skating added to the richness of her joyful spirit.

A proud graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1964, Rochelle dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her faith and family. Baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on April 17, 1977, her spiritual journey deeply influenced her life and the lives of those around her. For over 42 years, she served as a regular pioneer, dedicating 90 hours a month to her ministry-a testament to her unwavering commitment to her beliefs.

On January 27, 1979, Rochelle united her life with her husband, Ronald Ellis. Together, they formed a loving partnership that was built on devotion and mutual support.

Rochelle is survived by her children: Dionne Burney and Devon Burney; siblings: Rollins Burney, Michael Long, Delores Long, Lynn Long, Rod Long, Rick Long, and Charlene Long; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends, including: Sharon Watkins and Vicki Waters.

Rochelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Ellis; father, Ray Long; mother, Mary Adams; grandson, Keshawn Burney; sister, Patricia Ware; and brothers Fredrick Burney and Ronnie Long. Her light will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.
