Bob was a proud alumnus of the University of Cincinnati, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business. This foundation propelled him into a career marked by a passionate commitment to success and camaraderie. Yet, it was within the embrace of his family that Bob truly flourished. With his vivacious personality, he became the cornerstone of joyous moments and treasured memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who loved him.
As a dedicated husband, Bob shared a profound bond with his beloved wife, Karen Tobler. Their relationship exemplified love adorned with laughter, particularly during the Christmas season when he playfully garnered delight by teasing her with gifts upon gifts. To Bob, Karen was the light of his life, and he made it his mission to express his adoration daily.
As a father, he guided and nurtured his daughters, Karrie (Chris Marlow) Tobler, Deanna (Bradly Hancock) Tobler, and Christy (Denis Cahill) Tobler. Pa found immeasurable joy in spoiling his grandchildren—Aidan Augustus, Landen Augustus, Lana Augustus, Devin Cahill, Aidan Cahill, and Dawson Cahill—often taking them on adventures filled with laughter, whether it be picking them up from school or whisking them away to lunch, movies, or the park. In his home, playful sock and hose fights became legendary, while food fights were a testament to his spirited nature.
An avid golfer, gardener, and outdoorsman, Bob relished the simple pleasures of life. He garnered heartfelt memories through playing backyard football and baseball with his children and grandchildren. Culinary endeavors were a beloved hobby, where he would delight in grilling for family and friends, often reminiscing about their cherished times together at the beach, soaking in sunlit tranquility. A diehard fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, Bob proudly held season tickets to revel in the excitement of live sports alongside fellow enthusiasts.
Bob's deep-seated love for others extended beyond his immediate family; he had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people, creating bonds that transcended the ordinary. His brothers, Bill Tobler and Roger Tobler, shared in the laughter and love that permeated their growing up years. The extended family—nieces and nephews Ali Lavoy, Ian Tobler, Brittany Tobler, and Sarah Tobler—were fortunate to bask in his affection and whimsical pranks as he brought smiles to all.
Though he has departed from this world, the essence of Robert D. Tobler, Jr. will continue to shine through the lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. Tobler Sr. and Virginia Ruth Tobler, and his in-laws, Lauren and Gertrude Keil. Also waiting to welcome him were his dear sister-in-law, Lorna Scharringhausen, and brothers-in-law, Ode Keil and Ralph Keil. Their legacies intertwine with his, enriching the tapestry of memories he leaves behind.
